VICTORIA - The HST is dead. British Columbia voters have had their say and they have said the Harmonized Sales Tax must go. It's days are numbered.
More than 1.6 million BC voters cast a ballot in the HST referendum and more than half of them said yes to eliminating the tax and returning to a separate Provincial Sales tax and GST.
VICTORIA - There is celebration in the 'Yes' campaign which won the majority to eliminate the HST.
The referendum was born out of the petition campaign which was fed by grassroots anger about the tax and how the Liberal government brought it in.
Today HST opponents are celebrating, none more so than in the restaurant industry and small business.
VICTORIA - An Island brewery is celebrating its 10th anniversary. Phillips Brewing Company started out in Victoria with three beers.
The company's founder brewed the beer and delivered it himself. Now Phillips has more than 15 brands which are sold in pubs and liquor stores around the province.
PARKSVILLE - Parksville is a well known summer vacation spot, but it's not the city's beautiful beaches or that mini golf course with the big shoe attracting all the tourists.
Curling camp is in session at the Parksville Curling Club, and people have crossed oceans to learn from Canada's pros of pebbled ice.
